Case study: On-stand quiz for symposium

Client

—*

Brief

As part of their stand and display at an upcoming symposium, the client wishes to provide a computer-based quiz for attendees to complete. Participants will enter their details and be presented with a prize following successful completion of the quiz.

Approach

The quiz was developed using Flash technology, to take advantage of the visual and interactive features of Flash. The quiz was presented as multiple choice questions with feedback presented on the correct answer, and the users were given a total score at the end.

One hurdle to overcome was the ability of the program to interact with the desktop; Flash is unable to do so for security reasons. This interaction was necessary for the capture of user details. To overcome the restrictions of Flash; the program was packaged with Adobe Air which can address the issue. A demo of this program is available onĀ our demo site.

Outcome

Excellent feedback from both the client and the participants; mutually beneficial to both parties. New versions for upcoming meetings are already in development.
